July 4th Guest Chef Dinner


The newly remodeled open porch at the Kewaunee Inn officially opened for dinner last night with the presentation of Celebrity Chef Gus Barns' "Southern Greens with an Urban Twist"

Kewaunee Inn and Bistro at the Inn guests enjoyed the presentation and alfresco experience on a perfect night; and a great view of fireworks!

The Bistro at the Inn is now serving an upscale menu featuring ultra-fresh local ingredients; salads, paninis, fish, pastas, steaks. For this weekend, 12 new special wines were added from Europe, Australia, California, and, of course, Wisconsin.

Artist's Rave Kewaunee July 17-19


Artist's Rave! Kewaunee WI, July 17, 18, and 19

The Kewaunee Inn, Tavern, and Bistro, along with AIR Kewaunee, our Artist's Residence Program, will be hosting an Artist's Rave the weekend of July 17th. Internationally known artists Terry Dixon, RR Lyon, TD Lyon, and Robert Brasher, along with many others, will be joined by local artists for a weekend of spontaneous exploration of the arts! Models will be on hand, painting will take place on the Porch at the Kewaunee Inn, At Hamachek Hall and the Chapel, located in Hamachek Village on the shores of Lake Michigan, and at Voda Galerie, located at 608 Milwaukee in downtown Kewaunee.

Featured events will include artists demonstrations and instructions, live painting. a show containing works by dozens of well known artists for viewing and for sale. The Kewaunee Inn Tavern and Bistro will feature dining and drinking specials all weekend, along with live musical entertainment. Saturday evening will feature a "Dinner with the Artists" at Hamachek Hall. All participating artists will be on hand for this feast, prepared by visiting Guest Chef John McKevitt. Cost for this dinner will be a $25.00 each, and dinner will be followed by a bonfire and the City of Kewaunee Fireworks show, with after dinner libations served back at the Kewaunee Inn.

MUSIC ON THE PORCH at the historic Kewaunee Inn (the "Karsten", as it has been known). We are booking live music for Friday and Saturday nights throughout the summer on the newly opened covered porch. Starting soon; please come by for a listen, and enjoy a cocktail and the view.

GUEST CHEF at the Tavern for lunch + dinner, weekends: Join us in the Tavern and Bistro of the Inn and enjoy the presentations of Guest Chefs, sometimes celebrities, from time to time. This Saturday at dinner, "Southern Greens, with an Urban Twist". Lunch and dinner specials daily!

COOL TREATS + GIFTS at Annie's Emporium (located at 406 Milwaukee). Ice Cream, Intelligentsia Coffee, Espresso, Latte and now serving lunches; salads, wraps, sandwiches, as well as cool collectables and regional gourmet food items.

LIGHTHOUSES + SHIP PAINTINGS currently at the new Voda Galerie at 517 Milwaukee. The Voda Galerie will open a new show each month, collaborating with galleries in Chicago and New Orleans; highlighting the works of local artists, Chicago Artists, and artists from around the US and overseas.

Artist's Residency Program Opens!


We are proud to announce the opening of
> AIR-Kewaunee! After a few years of planning and building a
> concept we have arrived with a live-in residency program for
> artists of all types and those interested in art. We are
> located north of Chicago in a quiet beach town called
> Kewaunee. The summer session will last through the end of
> October 2009 and we are accepting applications now. We can
> only accommodate 30 artists at one time so if you have
> interest in July, August, Sept or October please let us
> know asap so we can make a reservation. We have partnered
> with some great art galleries in Chicago and New Orleans so
> that we can offer shows to the artists in residence as well
> as selling their artwork. Our summer directors are a
> father-son team of R.R. Lyon and T.D. Lyon. R.R. is an
> internationally know visual artist and was the founder of
> AIR-New Orleans. He has been invited to attend residencies
> in Italy, France and the USA. He was recently juried into

Voda Galerie Presents Maritime Images Art Show


Voda Art Galerie Presents Maritime Images, an Art show focused on images inspired by the natural and sometimes harsh beauty of the lake and it's surrounding environs. The show opened with a well attended Grand opening reception on June 27th, and continues through July 16th. Voda Galerie is located at 517 Milwaukee in Kewaunee, and is affiliated with the Kewaunee Inn.
