Green Bay follows Kewaunee's example - An Irish Parade!

Wisely, the Mayor predicts it will take years to build the event to match Kewaunee's Cork's famous parade!
"The city of Green Bay will mark St. Patrick's Day next week with a celebration of music, dance, fireworks and a parade that Mayor Jim Schmitt hopes becomes an annual and growing tradition.

Schmitt hopes the event will pick up speed and become one of the city's major downtown events in three years, when St. Patrick's Day falls on a Saturday.

Murphy said he was proud of his Irish heritage, the chance to serve as honorary parade marshal and to be a part of the event.

Jon Kolb, one of the founders of the Shamrock Club, said plans already are under way to help the event grow to include a fun run and a food drive for St. Patrick's Parish's charity efforts." Source: St. Patrick's Day bash in works for Green Bay | greenbaypressgazette.com | Green Bay Press-Gazette
